Katakalon Katakalon was a wonderful stop. The weather was great and the day was a blast. We headed into town and did
some shopping. Then we grabbed a train which took us through all sorts of small towns. The countryside was beautiful. Our destination was the site of the original Olympics which was about 30 minutes inland by train.
We wandered around the ancient Olympic site and got to see the remains of the old training facilities, the baths, the temples and finally the main stadium. You could feel the history there. We wandered around for a couple
of hours and then went into town for some gelato and beer. On the train back to port, we ended up talking with this young army recruit from Westchester, NY who was stationed in Germany but was travelling around Europe.
Back at the port, we did some more shopping and then had a beer by the sea as the sun was setting.
