The Glick Family Parents
Karen and Dan are the parents of this busy brood. Karen is a tennis addict.
She plays on a host of teams, is currently a 4.0 rated player (whatever that means) and takes great pride in severely beating her husband when he has the audacity to play her. She's taken up running and strength training, mostly to improve her tennis game. Last year she and friends trained at Healthtrax for their first Triathlon. She and I completed the Wilbraham Y not Tri in June, and she went on to do another all woman Tri in Syracuse sponsored by Aflac.
This year she took on the challenge of training for a ˝ marathon with friends from Healthtrax and is probably in the best shape of her entire life. She ran her first ˝ marathon in February in Hyannis. She had so much fun, not only did she sign up for another, but convinced me to run it as well. We celebrated my birthday in Worcester, MA. We spent it running the 1st annual Worcester ˝ marathon. In addition to her job and family, we have finished our renovations and tried our hand at renting our home that we purchased at auction. We had a HUGE learning curve in the rental process and a year later we are still trying to figure it out.
Dan is a runner, skier, golfer, swimmer, etc. I run 10K races mostly and have run the Holyoke Saint Patrick's Road Race for 18 years in a row. It has lots of hills and is the most difficult course I run, until my wife goaded me into the Worcester 1/2. With the recent run-up in gas prices, I've taken to riding a bike to work several times a week - its good exercise and quite cost effective. My wife and I are both active in the First Church of Longmeadow. I'm on the Board of Children's Ministries which mostly means that I teach the occasional Sunday school class.
Together, we have a very successful marriage based on non-stop activity, piles of laundry and lots of help from friends and family. We love our home in New England. Longmeadow is a small town that is great to raise all these children. There are tree lined sidewalks everywhere - all the children ride bikes to school every day that weather permits.
